How Can We Help You Make 2008 Your Best Seller Year?

Hi Warren,
I write children's books. They are educational fantasy. My characters teach but don't preach and make learning fun. I also have a children's website which has a great following and has been No#1 on Google and Yahoo for the past year.

My wish list for 2008 is
1. To sell more books
2. To find a reputable literary agent
3. To get picked up by a major publishing house
4. To possibly mass sell my book to companies for their own promotional agenda
I've had radio interviews,book preview trailers on You Tube and many others,Blogs and social networking, book reviews (all positive), but alas sales are still not what they should be.

Well, that's my wish list.....

For 2008 I am looking to convert the articles I've written for my No Limit Success blog (http://nolimitsuccess.blogspot.com) into a book and course.

Title, organization, additional topics are all bubbling in my head. I need to set out and attain my *own* unprecedented future as an author.

Publication and promotion seem so far off in the future, but I will keep reading your messages and planning for that day.

I have 8 book ideas in different interest areas in various stages of completion, and would like to get a sense of what is currently selling in the marketplace so as to know which one (or two) I should focus on completing first!

Once they are completed, I have some training in web sales, but know nothing about how to effectively use podcasts, blogs, or other media to get the word out and generate interest and sales!!

Looks like a number of your topics would help me with this second stage, but my first interest would be in your first listing -- help figuring out what to write!

I would like to know how to set up a membership site (or whatever) to make make residual income. This is something that I have been wanting to do for quite some time, but just have not figured out all the pieces yet.

I have sold items one at a time, but would like to be able to generate a monthly income that would allow me to rely on the Internet as a source of income for the long haul.

I think I know what to write, there are several people in my life eagerly waiting on various books from me, yet being such a 'joat' who's biggest gift is probably storytelling in general, I could be all over the place in a bad way.

Similar to the topic above, I know who I know and I am not sure how to get at who they know.

I am really interested in this as I know both types of authors and am not sure which will allow me the freedom and satisfaction I imagine I would need to see things through.

I always have a hard time monetizing things so this seems like a great topic. I once ventured a thought that if only I could sale 100K e-books for a dollar each I would have accomplished something great.

I think this will be a great avenue for me because I have a great knack for explaining things in terms relative to any audience from executives to kindergardeners to tech people.

I have no clue about this and thus probably the greatest reason I am not a full time writer... that and being a chicken ;)

I feel confident about a lot of my offline resources for advertising but I have quite a lot to learn I would imagine about the online world.

I wish I knew but I have been self studying these topics for some time and thus would love to have some confirmation or leadership in this area.

I love public speaking and have thus far only received rave reviews... never as an author though... I would LOVE that!

Oooo... sounds most intriguing. I have some ideas for technology learning that I think would work great with some fast and wide distribution.

I have yet to do this, although I was planning to try that for 2008, potentially with a blog.

We will continue to focus on marketing and promotion of books, but the other topics mentioned in my list all had some response.

When you subscribe to this feed, you'll get all the latest news I post. I've found that that blog feeds and the interaction in blog comments, social networking, twitter, etc are like personal communication on steriods.

We are writing our first book on Marriage and are about halfway done. We have an outline and are working on putting our content into the chapters. Thanks for your letter and the chance to give some feedback! My main concerns right now are involved in advertising and marketing. I have a book that I think is a pretty good product, but I am having some trouble generating interest.

Also, I would be greatly interested in making some money NOW. I don't mind spending a little, and I'm certainly not afraid of work. I don't care (at least not at first) whether I make thousands, I just want to make enough extra to pay some bills - say $200 a week or so.

I think maybe marketers have missed a great niche market by advertising for "the big bucks." What about those of us who just want to make some extra money?

My passions are stock trading, simplicity, minimalism, and Eastern philosophy. Years ago, I combined my passions to develop a very simple but powerful stock trading system that I have been very successful with.

I started blogging about trading, simplicity, and Taoism about a year and a half ago. I self-published my book on my stock trading system through CreateSpace a few months ago.

I created a website, and promoted the book through my blogs and to my email list (which is mostly friends and family). I also put out a press release.

So far, the book is selling slowly but steadily. My Amazon sales rank bounces around - and has jumped as low as 2 million, and as high as 81,000.

What I would want most for 2008:
1. Sell more books.
2. Build an online following.
3. Turn my book into a high ticket course - in fact, a funnel of products.
4. Sell the products through affiliates and JV's.
5. Get the media to notice me.

I would like to find new readers for my book, "Outer Mongolia... no longer a fantasy", because it has a message that is relevant to everyone... but more importantly, I want to inspire lots of people to purchase my book because every dollar from each book goes directly to a charity for the people of Mongolia.

I have written 2 compilation style ebooks in a specialty niche, but need help w/ promotion and marketing.

I'm excited to see what you have coming out this year. For the first time I am on the other side of the book marketing equation. After 11 years as a book publicist and marketing consultant I'll be a published author myself in 2008.

What I would most like to learn is how to leverage the free mobile marketing workshops I will be giving into the maximum profit without turning into a "please rush to the back of the room and buy it now" type. You know what I mean, right? Where the participants feel like they need to have a shower afterward just to feel clean again.
