Correct, once you are published you are the expert. I never really understood this, but I still get queries every once and awhile about a topic I wrote on 5 years ago - I guess people still consider me the “expert” even though I don’t.
Most of the world never writes a book.
Most books aren’t about your expertise
So it’s pretty rare that someone has a bunch of authors to choose from when asking for an expert.
Odds really are in your favor if you stay active and connected
