The big lesson from using all the faster technology (the stuff you might call web 2.0 or social media) is that small things make a big difference.

Sometimes an short tweet on Twitter turns into a new client, often, the person I help later helps another and that person refers back someone that ends up help me with another client.

This stuff works!

Hi Warren,

In 2007, I saw a message on the Network Leaders forum over at Ryze asking for Ryze users who were interested in being interviewed by a BusinessWeek reporter. I made the connection and got a mention in the June/July BW SmallBiz issue in the Technology section(both print & online editions).

Although it wasn't through a blog posting, it was a good example of taking a deep breath and making that first attempt to contact someone in the media.

Interestingly enough, the title of the article was "Reach Out and Find Someone: How social networking sites can help you find advice, drum up business, and hire new employees"

Thanks to you and Guy for your advice and encouragement to just Go For It!
