You Are An Author. Get Some Stuff Published

by Warren Whitlock, Book Marketing Strategist

An new author called the other day. He is writing a book to share what his expertiese and establish himself in the marketplace.

I asked what else he had besides the book. He replied that he was very busy doing what he’s an expert at, and that he’d create that content after the book was published and established.

NO WAY TODAY

This approach may have been viable just a few years ago… and while there’s a rare story of success this way, the chances of success are so small that I’d rather just say they are gone and share a better way.

—> Create a Lot of Content Fast

The tools available today let you write an article, share a photo or video and connect with your readers fast. I explain these in our FREE course at http://BookMarketingStrategy.com

I’m sharing one of these here. This post was written and posted a few minutes after seeing the following video. I’m sharing a video I liked.. it’s amusing, inexpensive and fast.

Take a quick break and watch… while you do, ask yourself how you might get something up TODAY.

This reminds me of a piece of advice I read once: do one thing each day to promote yourself and your product.

Good advice, obviously, as you stay focused on keeping your name out there. I do however think there’s something to be said for quality content rather than quantity. It’s certainly not easy, but I dare say, very important.

    This is so true.

Some of the training out there would have you believe that some magic submission formula will blast you to the top. While there are some great system that we use as professionals, most of the work is just applying what we know works. Simply staying in the stream with constant promotion.

On my own account, I often set aside what I know will work for me while working for others.. often was frustrated as many authors are. I finally committed to the process I teach others, got a book out, and never did a big promotion strategy. After a year, my ranking in search engines, my popularity scores, my promotion results for others are all way up.

Stay with it. You will succeed if you follow what we teach. A professional service can speed things up if you have the budget, but ultimately the good content you create will be the reason you get known.
